Thanet in the Arena League

We have three teams competing, the A team are in the Premier Division of the National Arena Swimming League, whilst the B team are in Division 1 East and the C team in Division 2 East. The age groups of eligible swimmers are U12, U14, U16 and Open (age at 31st December). There are three rounds of galas for each division, which take place between October and December each year.

The Thanet coaches will select the fastest teams for these galas. Some swimmers will compete in the team, some in both individual events and relays and some in relays only. Please remember that every swimmer is equally important to the success of the team. Double age groups mean that swimmers who may not be selected in one year of competition, may be asked to be part of the team the following year (e.g. a 12 year-old can no longer compete in the U12 category, but may not be selected to swim in the U14 category, as there may be faster 13 year-old swimmers).

Selected swimmers will be notified by the KJL and Arena League rep. It is vital that you let the them know whether you are able to take part in the gala you have been selected for as soon as you will have received an invitation email.

More detailed information about the National Arena Swimming League is available on the league’s website.
