For swimmers between the ages of 6-11, the squad is for competitive swimming, improving swimmers technique and strength. The aim is to achieve East Invicta and County qualifying times.

Progression route

Swimmers reaching the standard of two Kent QT’s (One to be a Individual Medley) when at the age of 11, may be offered a place in the senior squad. For swimmers that haven’t reached the required standard may be asked to join our Dolphin squads.

Monday                 Hartsdown                   4.00pm to 6.00pm

Wednesday           Ramsgate                     4.00pm to 6.00pm

Thursday               Hartsdown                   4.00pm to 6.00pm

Friday                   Ramsgate                      4.00pm to 6.00m

Sunday                  Ramsgate                      4.45pm to 6.30pm

Sunday (Land training)                             3.50pm to 4.25pm

Squad Plan (guidelines)

Lane placing will be based on ability, although the aim is to progress as below:-

Lane 1      Swimmers aged 6-7

Lane 2      Swimmers aged 7

Lane 3      Swimmers aged 8

Lane 4      Swimmers aged 8-9

Lane 5      Swimmers aged 9-10

Lane 6      Swimmers aged 10-11


Swimmers must achieve the following regular attendance:-

Lanes 1, 2           2 sessions per week

Lane 3, 4             3 sessions per week

Lanes 5-6             4 sessions per week

Any final decisions on session allocation, lane placement or squad movement will always be at the discretion of the Squad/Head Coach

Policy for maintaining squad status

Swimmers will be assessed on an annual basis over a mixture of factors:-

1)      Attendance records;

2)      Training performance;

3)       Behaviour records;

4)       Competitive Performance.

Swimmers not meeting an appropriate standard across the above criteria may be asked to move to another squad.
