Speedo Festive Gala

The club hosted our Annual Festive meet at Dover Leisure Centre over the weekend.

With 14 clubs in attendance and over 400 swimmers, it was a extremely busy gala, which was managed amazingly by our Gala team, who had to not only organise all the usual roles and responsibilities, but also had to deal with a very unhelpful Leisure Centre team.

The gala was an amazing success, with our legendary “Hot Heats” and festive chocolate for all swimmers in attendance, plus some excellent social media competitions.

A huge number of fantastic swims and huge pbs were recorded by the swimmers, ready for County championships in the New Year.

The club would like to thank all the clubs & swimmers for attending, but also to our army of volunteers, that:-

  1. Set up the gala
  2. Run the AOE
  3. Announced
  4. Organised the food & drinks
  5. Organised the medals
  6. Organised the chocolates & Speedo gifts
  7. Run the front/medals/hot heat desks
  8. Photographer and social media
  9. Marshalled
  10. Officiated
  11. Run results for coaches & spectators
  12. Organised for Father Christmas to attend!

It is down to our fantastic supporters that we can host such a fantastic gala! THANK YOU ALL!

Kent Junior League success

On Saturday evening two Thanet teams travelled across Kent to compete in the final round of Kent Junior League 2022.

Our A team were competing in Tonbridge against the top 6 teams in the county. Ranked 2nd from the first 2 rounds, the final round was a winner takes all. Some fantastic team swims, kept the top 3 teams very close, with only 10.5 points between them. With the final relays crowning the champion, we were just pipped into 2nd behind Bromley. Congratulations to Bromley on their 1st KJL win.

Our B team were competing at Crook Log against the next top 6 teams in the county. Being the only B team in the league, we faced huge challenges to compete at this level. Our young team dug deep and produced some excellent swims to finish in 3rd position, only 2 points from the joint 1st place winners Erith District and Saxon Crown.

Fantastic team efforts from everyone involved
