Although we have been able to cover most of the sessions over the summer, we are unable to find sufficient cover for this coming Wed 31st July 6.00-8.00pm and will regrettably have to cancel this senior session.
Training will be on, as arranged, 4.00-6.25pm on Fri 2nd Aug at the new Ramsgate Leisure Centre pool unless announced differently.
Well done to Maisie Macartney for making the final of the aged 11/12 100m freestyle. Finishing 9th, Maisie was the only 11 year old in the final.
Please note that the new pool at Ramsgate Leisure Centre will be open on Wednesday 31st July. Therefore training will be transferred to the new pool from then (Wednesday).
Our current training programme will continue to run for the time being (please check our summer training programme), Although pool time in Thanet is under review, as changes are required to enable Your Leisure to repay its loan taken to build the new pool.
We will advise everyone of the implication shortly.
Over the last week, Katie Latham has been in Poland representing Great Britain at the European Junior Champs
Overall Katie achieved
4 Finals + 1 Reserve finallist
3 Personal Bests out of 4 Individual Events
A Silver and Bronze Medal in Relay events
4 Club Records, 3 Kent Records and 3 SER Records
Improved her overall ranking in Europe from 18th to 10th (100 Free) and 16th to 11th on 50 Free.
The club is very proud of Katies contribution to Great Britains performance in Poland.
We hope that Junior swimmers within the club will be inspired to emulate this achievement.
