Club Chairman

We regretfully announce that the Club’s Chairman, Mr Darren Wilmshurst has resigned from his post.

To continue the great things that have been achieved recently, Mr Scott Miles has kindly offered to stand in as acting Chairman and this has been ratified by the Club’s Committee.

A new Chairman will be elected at the AGM in May.

We would like to thank Darren for all his efforts as Chairman over the past months.

Thanet Junior Development Gala

We staged a hugely successful Development gala at Hartsdown today

A big thank you to all our officials, volunteers and in particular to Dover Lifeguard Swim Club for saving the day with bringing over their starting and PA system.

In the pool, Thanet enjoyed great success with Alfie Bradford, Lewis Older, Honour Llewellyn, Hollie Shepherd-Ashby, Megan Tong, Freddie Sutton, Erin Kenneally, Ailsa Macrae, Bowen Goldhawk, Katie Macrae and Abbie Debling all collecting medals. In addition there were some great individual swims from all the swimmers.

Results have been uploaded, please find them in our results section.

New Sponsors

I am very pleased to announce that we have a couple of new Sponsors.

Princes Golf Club have agreed to become a major sponsor of Thanet Swim Club. Princes Golf Club has a rich and long heritage in Links Golf having staged the British Open back in 1932 and has featured as a Local Final Qualifying venue for the Open Championship each time it has been held at The Royal St Georges Golf Club since 1981. It now also boasts an all new Lodge Accommodation overlooking the stunning 27 holes of links golf and the English Channel.

Revolution Skatepark has also agreed to support our programme of Galas specifically the Junior Development Gala that we hold in February. Revolution Climbing Centre was the recent destination for our Senior, Junior and Intermediate Squad social event during the Christmas Holiday; something that I think will be a regular event. Revolution Skatepark was first opened back in 1998 to cater for the large amount of skateboarders, inline skaters and BMX’ers in the Thanet and Kent area, as well as reaching out to other skaters all across the country and even the world. Since the skatepark opened over 14 years ago, many pro teams and riders have visited, including Chet Childress, Tim Brauch and Darren Navarette only one month after the skate park opened as well as many teams, such as Blind, Think, Venture, Death plus many more.

We are very grateful for the support that we receive from our sponsors
