Kent FANS Scheme
The Kent FANS scheme (Free Access for National Sports people) provides opportunities for sportsmen and sportswomen of all ages who currently perform, or compete at a National level and who reside for the majority of the year in Kent. It caters for sportspeople (including those with disabilities) who are:
- Currently members of a national team or squad.
- Currently listed in the top 10 of any national age group ranking.
- Successful in any national age group competition (top 10 finish), in the last 12 months.
Benefits include free access to participating sports facilities across the county, sports science sessions and discounts for certain sports equipment companies.
The following facilities in Thanet offer free access benefits:
- Hartsdown Leisure Centre
- Ramsgate Sports Centre
- Manston Golf Centre
- Marlowe Academy Athletics Track (TBC – site ownership transferring)

Kent Sport Small Grants For Individuals
The aim of the Kent Sport Small Grants Scheme is to encourage and increase participation in sport and physical activity by residents within Kent County Council or Medway Council administrative areas (excludes London Boroughs).
Individuals that meet the criteria of either FANS or FACS are entitled to apply for funding towards their activities. You must be signed up to FANs or FACs to apply [LINK]
