The club took part in the Arena League B Final at Cardiff International Pool on Saturday.
An absolutely amazing experience, swimming against some of the best teams in Great Britain, the team put on a fantastic display of team swimming.
Despite having withdrawals, swimmers having to swim up in age groups and a very late injury to Jamie O’Connor, we battled from being 10th after the 1st set of relays to finish overall 7th. We are now the 17th best club in Great Britain. Not bad for a small club with no 50m pool or University swimming.
The club would like to thank some very important people:-
- Scott Walker, Magda Carrick and Wendy Boyd for officiating for the club. Despite having family arrive, Scott offered his assistance and drove down to Cardiff on the day so that we had the required officials.
- Paul Jameson for suffering extreme temperatures and being our club mascot STORM for the day.
We did come away from the Final will an award! It’s Official, we do have the best supporters! Thank you to everyone that took on the challenge of travel to Cardiff to cheer on the team and help us win the supporters prize.
