After guiding the club for the past 4 years, Scott Miles has taken the decision to step down as Chairman after the Clubs presentation evening. During this time, the club has seen significant change including:-
- Growth in swimmer members from 80 to now approx. 290 swimmers;
- Merger with Margate Swimming Club;
- Acquisition of electronic timing at Hartsdown;
- A major pool time review in Thanet;
- Stabilisation of the clubs finances;
- Change in Head Coach;
- New club kit and branding.
“I would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the club, from those that volunteer time to help on the committee, all the coaches, those that run the club shop, our social media volunteers to those that help us host fantastic open meets. The club is now in a very strong and healthy position, which will allow it to continue to grow and improve.
It has been a fantastic honour to lead the club to where it is today and I am immensely proud of its achievements. I wish the committee and the new Chairman the very best.”
The committee will be electing a new chairman in due course.
