Thanet County Qualifier – Gravesend and Northfleet Autumn Open

It has been necessary to cancel our Kent Qualifier Open on 24 November.
However, we are planning to use the Gravesend and Northfleet Autumn meet as a replacement on 1/2 December at Black Lion.
Full entry details will be out tonight from our Gala Secretary but this will be a fast turnaround (Midnight Thursday) as the entries will need to be in by the weekend.
Please note that the Qualifying Times are different to our Thanet Open and therefore swimmers previously excluded may be able to swim.
Head Coach is currently compiling a list of existing Kent QTs for swimmers as a guideline so please email David by Tuesday if you need advice.

Thanet Sports Awards

A massive well done to the following who have been shortlisted for the Thanet Sports Awards.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Winter Gardens on Wednesday 21st November where Academy FM DJ Johnny Lewis will be compere and Jade Jones Team GB Olympic Gold Medalist will be guest speaker.

Sportsman of the Year: Aaron Clements and Ben Pond

Unsung Hero: Chelsea Jarman

Young Team of the Year: 4x 200m Boys Freestyle Relay Team

Club of the Year: Thanet Swim Club

Thanet Open

It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that the Thanet County Qualifier Meet scheduled for the 24th November has had to be cancelled.

However, as a club we recognise that we still need to provide opportunities for club swimmers to achieve their County Times. As a consequence, we will be providing details of alternative arrangements.

National County Team Championships

5 of our Swimmers represented Kent at the National County Team Championships; Hannah Denny, Jamie O’Connor, Kyri Papa-Adams, Casey Harte and Katie Latham.

There were some amazing swims – see here to see how they did.

Overall Kent finished 8th in Division 1 which is another great result
