Congratulations to Maisie Macartney for a fantastic first Open Water race of the 2019 season. Maisie represented GB at the LEN European Open Water Cup in Eilat, Israel over the weekend of the 30-31st March. On the Saturday, Maisie competed with the GB relay team which won the Silver medal. On the Sunday in her individual event she came 17th overall, and was the third best placed GB female and 3rd junior competitor overall. This is a really great result, especially as the conditions were particularly unpleasant with a choppy swell which resulted in many swimmers, Maisie included, suffering from seasickness. Maisie’s great results means she will progress with the GB team and participate in the next two rounds of the LEN Cup; Round 2 will be in Brive, France over the 21-24th May and Round 3 which will be in Barcelona in late June.
