Been busy updating the website!!

Results from Gravesend and Northfleet Autumn Gala can be found here.

Results from the 800/1500 race night can be found here. And well done to all those that won the McDonalds vouchers and indeed to McDonalds who sponsored the event.

The South East Regional Qualifying Times have now been published and can be found here.

The Committee are constantly reviewing and updating our policies and procedures. Our Disputes and Disciplinary Procedure has now been published and can be foud here.

Also, we recognise that parents and swimmers new to swimming it can be a bit daunting! What do I need, how do I enter galas, when can I enter galas etc. Therefore, we have produced a guide by way of an introduction to competitive swimming that can been found here.

Finally, the minutes to the Committee Meeting held in October can be found here. There was not Committee Meeting in November.

New Records Board

Our new Records Board has now been mounted at Hartsdown.

Thanet Junior Development Gala

Thanet Swim Club is pleased to announce that it will be staging the Junior Development Gala again in 2013 on the 9th February.

It is only open to those swimmers who did not achieve an individual Kent Qualifying Time. It also includes a Skins event and a club Squadron Relay with cash prizes for the former and a club trophy for the latter.

Plus we always make sure the coaches and officials are looked after during the interval!!

Lasy year was very popular event.

Thanet Swim Club triumph at Thanet Sports Awards

At the Thanet Sports Award held at the Winter Gardens and presented by Academy DJ Johnny Lewis, Thanet Swim Club once again scooped up a number of awards.

Aaron Clements collected Sportsman of the Year with Ben Pond highly commended. Thanet Swim Club also picked up top honours for Team of Year and only just missed out on Club of Year to Thanet Athletics Club.

In the last 4 years, Thanet Swim Club has now won Club of the year twice and been highly commended twice.

The gold medal 4x 200m Freestyle Team of Harry Bradford, Ben Evans, Jamie O’Connor and Alexander Wilmshurst were highly commended in Young Team of the Year but with the Upton Junior Swimming Team picking up top prize. However, the Upton Junior Swimming Team included all Thanet Swimmers – Jack Baker, Alex Boyd, Alfie Bradford and Joshua Jones.

Also recognised on the night was Chelsea Jarman in the Unsung Hero category.

This event has grown considerably over the last couple of years and Jade Jones, Olympic Gold Medallist from London 2012, was also present to participate in an question and answer session.
