What an amazing day at our Tough Swimmer team-building fun day at the MY/PT Survival obstacle course at Betteshanger Park – over 190 club members attended! Even a few showers didn’t dampen the fun as the swimmers coaches, parents and carers were put through their paces across the comprehensive obstacle course. We couldn’t help getting a bit competitive during the swimmers V coaches and parents race – especially as the course became rather muddy after the rain – winners were the ‘oldies’ (but they did have a two minute head-start!). Massive thank you to Scott and Claire Miles for organising this amazing fun day. Thanks also to Fruits de Mer for supplying the BBQ food Drinkwarehouse for supplying the drinks, ABCastleHire for the bouncy castle and to Your Leisure for their BBQ and continued support.
Photos are now on the club’s Flickr site here – please remember to donate £1 per download towards fundraising for future events – thank you!
Well done to all the swimmers that competed at the Thanet Primary Schools gala on Saturday, we had 237 swimmers from 13 local schools taking part.
Upton Primary School had a clean-sweep this year by winning the year 3/4 team, the year 5/6 team, the overall team and even the Parents & Teachers relay race!
Thank you to all the swimmers, coaches, officials, timing team, volunteers, supporters and leisure centre staff – you made it a really special and fun day.
Thank you also to the many Thanet Swim Club swimmers that helped out on the day with officialling, marshalling, team management and refreshments – you were all fab!
A final thank you to the event sponsors: Your Leisure and McDonalds Thanet
your support for this event is really appreciated by everyone involved.
